is the student-led publication for the arts at The Potomac School in McLean, VA. At Phoebus, we write, we paint, we photograph, we draw, we sing, we build. At Phoebus, we create.
“Still, they admire my dragons.”
“Reader, we are all made of what we love.”
“A ponytail that swung in 4/4 time like a pendulum as she walked.”
“I look up at the stars, each one a happy memory in my mind.”
“All else has failed and now we revolve around the point of no return.”
“Just the sun and her smile, which, I would argue, were one and the same.“

SUBMIT
At the end of each year, Phoebus creates a culminating booklet of student art over the year. We accept all types of creation, not just the stereotypical products! If you are a Potomac student, think about what you’ve made both in your classes and free time, find what you’re proud of, and then email it to us…because we’ll be more than proud to publish it
(if not in the final booklet then on this website)!
Don’t know what counts as creation? The answer is: almost anything!
But here are some examples:
short story
poetry
prose
song lyrics
sections of an essay
answers to creative prompts from your English/History class
drawing
painting
ceramics
photography
architecture
sculptures
prints
short film
stop motion
original compositions
produced songs
musical covers
AND MORE!!!
Submit to us by emailing phoebus@potomacschool.org
or talk to Caitlin Toop/Alina Siva!
